What would you tell a child that says their dream is to become a YouTuber?

There can be two options which are supportive or unsupportive.

To be unsupportive is an easier and more convenient way to behave. I can pretend to be smarter than my child and bolster my old experience. It is real to point out that becoming YouTuber is a bad and old-fashioned idea when my child will become grown-up. Is it wise that I pick that petty fact up and frustrate my child's dream, seriously? I think the disadvantage of frustration is bigger than the advantage of realizing the trivial life truth.

However, being supportive of momentary childhood dreams can be helpful to find out real potential. Yes, childhood dreams can be changed, it is true. But, only trial and error is the best way to reveal a genuine life-long dream. Efforts to be YouTuber can show my child's talent to be an influencer or entertainer. The most popular social network always has changed from YouTube and Facebook to TikTok or Instagram's Reels. Whatever the platform is, the most important talents have been the same such as attraction, charm, and smartness to attract consumers. Excavating life-long talent is more difficult than selecting which platform is most popular at the moment.

In conclusion, being unsupportive of childhood dreams can delay the time or extort the opportunity to develop real dreams. So, I think being supportive of momentary childhood dreams is a better choice for my child.
